About the role
- Senior Java Developer responsible for the development and maintenance of CR2’s BankWorld product. Involves designing software solutions and collaborating within a scrum team in a hybrid work model.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the development, enhancement, and maintenance of CR2’s BankWorld product
- Design and implement new features, ensuring alignment with business requirements, technical specifications, security practices, and project timelines
- Actively participate in agile scrum ceremonies, working closely with team members to achieve project goals and deliverables
- Ensure adherence to software design best practices, participate in design and code reviews, and proactively suggest improvements to processes and practices
- Adhere to sound security engineering practices to protect the integrity and security of the product
- Assist in maintaining and supporting both new and existing features by working with the support team to diagnose and resolve issues promptly
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends, and integrate new solutions to enhance the user experience and product functionality
- Provide occasional out-of-hours support for critical product issues when required
Requirements
- Honours Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of proven experience in Java programming
- Proficient in Java programming with strong object-oriented design and programming skills
- Experienced in agile software development methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, or similar frameworks
- Proficiency in Git for source code management
- Experience with Java frameworks (Spring Framework, Spring MVC, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, JPA, Spring Data, Kafka), microservices architectures, RESTful APIs, relational databases (SQL for Oracle), cross-platform development, multi-threading, and familiarity with the banking or financial services sector
