About the role

Responsibilities
- Design and develop Java-based backend services and microservices in a cloud-native environment
- Build, maintain, and enhance RESTful APIs used by internal and external systems
- Contribute to the development of scalable, secure, and reliable backend solutions
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from implementation and testing to deployment and support
- Collaborate closely with other engineers, architects, and product stakeholders
- Optimize performance, reliability, and maintainability across distributed services
- Write clean, testable code and manage technical debt responsibly
- Participate in code reviews and knowledge sharing within the team
- Create and maintain clear technical documentation
- Stay curious and engaged with modern Java and backend development practices
Requirements
- Practical experience building backend services using Spring Boot (3+)
- Solid hands-on experience with Java (preferably Java 17+ / Java 21)
- Strong understanding of RESTful API design, implementation, and integration
- Experience applying clean code principles and implementing automated tests
- Familiarity with software design principles such as SOLID, KISS, and YAGNI
- Experience working in cloud-based or distributed systems, ideally on AWS
- Basic to intermediate exposure to AWS services such as Lambda, API Gateway, CloudWatch
- Understanding of CI/CD practices
- Experience in banking or regulated environments is a strong advantage
- Experience with Quarkus will be considered an advantage
- Fluent English required in spoken and written communication
