Responsible for the electrical systems that connect high-performance data centers to the grid and its distribution.
Take ownership of end-to-end electrical infrastructure design: evaluating interconnection points, transformer sizing, substation layouts, protection schemes, and regional code compliance.
Provide technical input during Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) negotiations; translate commercial terms into engineering requirements and identify operational risks.
Represent FluidStack in discussions with utilities, consultants, and equipment suppliers to ensure reliability and efficiency.
Participate in design reviews, create technical documentation for interconnection applications, and support commissioning of HV/MV infrastructure at new sites.
Lead design, review, and approval of High Voltage (HV) and Medium Voltage (MV) systems, including substations, feeders, step-down transformers, and utility interconnects.
Manage grid interconnection processes and prepare technical documentation for utilities, ISO/RTOs, and regulatory bodies.
Troubleshoot HV/MV distribution issues, conduct Root Cause Analyses (RCA), and develop Corrective Action (CA) plans.
Act as resident engineer during substation and MV switchgear construction projects; support construction, commissioning, and turnover.
Own upgrade strategies for existing facilities: design solutions to add capacity, improve reliability, and increase efficiency.
Perform engineering audits at FluidStack data centers, focusing on HV/MV infrastructure and substation performance.
Interface with utilities, EPC partners, consultants, and internal teams; work on concurrent HV/MV and substation projects across multiple regions.
