About the role
- Senior DevOps Engineer at Xcelerate Solutions. Design, deploy, and maintain Kubernetes microservices, CI/CD, Elasticsearch, and Kafka-based big-data pipelines.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the design, deployment, and maintenance of a full stack containerized microservices architecture
- Perform technical systems administration, installation, and configuration
- Deploy, triage and maintain a production big data pipeline using Kubernetes, Elasticsearch backend, and Kafka messaging
- Enhance, improve, and maintain CI/CD and DevOps scripts and processes to facilitate faster development and resilient deployments (Gitlab)
- Design, develop, and support scalable, redundant infrastructure including physical and virtualized environments
- Use Helm to configure Kubernetes deployments to support new feature requirements
- Collaborate with System Engineers, Architects, development, security, operations, and integration teams
- Provide technical input to systems engineering documentation and diagrams/models
- Participate in Agile release planning, scrum of scrums, bug triage, and design sessions
Requirements
- Must have an active Top Secret/ SCI security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance
- BS in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience
- 8+ years in software development, system engineering or related field with BS; 6+ years with Master's degree
- Knowledgeable in navigating Linux OS
- Experienced with container / container orchestration, specifically Kubernetes
- Skilled with CI/CD pipeline orchestration and the use of Gitlab
- Comfortable with Elastic Search, Logstash, Kibana
- Experience with Kafka or other message passing systems (AMQP, JMS)
- Experience with scripting/development: Bash, PowerShell, SALT, Python, Groovy, Java
- Experience on production/enterprise systems
- Demonstrated ability to participate in cross-functional planning, coordination, and task execution
