About the role
- Senior Data Scientist developing machine learning models focused on recommendations and user behavior for Onfly, a leading Travel Tech B2B company in Latin America.
Responsibilities
- Develop machine learning models applied directly to the product, with a primary focus on recommendation, personalization, and user behavior models.
- Translate business problems into tangible and measurable statistical solutions, defining hypotheses, metrics, collection strategy, validation, and rollout.
- Work with structured and semi-structured data from Onfly’s data ecosystem, including BigQuery, microservices, events, and tactical databases.
- Collaborate with Engineering and DataOps on integrating models into the analytical and transactional ecosystem, ensuring technical requirements for performance, reliability, and governance (latency, frequency, criticality, observability, and cost).
- Conduct experiments and validations in a production environment (A/B tests, uplift metrics, product impact).
- Evolve the company’s data science stack, influencing best practices, versioning, monitoring, and governance.
- Serve as a technical reference in the data science chapter, supporting architecture discussions, feature store strategy, and consumption via microservices.
- Develop and advance predictive and prescriptive models applied to the product, expanding the embedded intelligence within Onfly’s ecosystem.
Requirements
- Master’s or PhD in Data Science.
- Previous experience with Vertex AI, Airflow, or other MLOps tools.
- Experience with microservices-based architectures and API consumption.
- Familiarity with recommendation and personalization in digital platforms.
- Experience with models related to engagement, risk, credit, or churn.
- Active participation in evolving data ecosystems at growth-stage companies.
