About the role
- Senior Controller overseeing financial processes and ensuring compliance in Mexico City for Moove and Kovi. Leading accounting operations with an emphasis on strategy and improvement.
Responsibilities
- Supervising and validating monthly and annual accounting closings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with IFRS/NIIF.
- Implementing and monitoring internal controls to prevent risks and optimize processes.
- Ensuring compliance with fiscal and regulatory obligations.
- Designing and implementing improvements in accounting systems and processes, including automation.
- Preparing financial and management reports for senior leadership.
- Analyzing financial statements to identify areas of opportunity and recommending corrective actions.
- Coordinating internal and external audits, ensuring timely responses.
- Overseeing treasury management, bank reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable.
- Ensuring timely invoicing and accurate revenue recognition in line with accounting standards.
- Reviewing and presenting reliable financial statements for decision-making.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (preferred), Finance, or Administration with solid experience in accounting.
- Master’s degree or postgraduate studies in Corporate Finance, MBA, Management Control, or Auditing is desirable.
- Proven experience applying IFRS/NIIF in accounting closings, financial statements, and revenue recognition.
- Strong knowledge of local tax regulations and compliance.
- Experience in internal control and audits.
- Knowledge of financial analysis, budgets, and cash flow management.
- Advanced skills in Excel and ERP systems.
- Advanced English (oral and written).
- Knowledge of facturación 4.0 (Mexico).
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in financial/controllership roles and at least 3 years leading teams.
