Leonardo DRSSenior Accountant
Senior Accountant at Leonardo DRS responsible for general ledger journal entries and various accounting tasks. Collaborating with Finance team to support month - end closing and financial reporting.
About the role
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, monthly close processes, settling monthly intercompany receivables & payables
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP, internal controls, and accounting policies
- Record acquisitions, transfers, disposals, and depreciation of fixed assets
- Oversee Concur review and approvals, monthly billing & accruals
- Maintain and enhance accounting systems, processes, and documentation
- Support internal and external audits and ensure ongoing compliance with company policies and regulatory standards
- Ensure compliance with policies related to ethics, confidentiality, and safety
- Perform additional accounting tasks and special projects as needed
- Perform complex bank and account reconciliations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accuracy and consistency in financial reporting
- Identify process improvement opportunities within accounting workflows and systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5 – 7+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong technical knowledge of US GAAP
- Hands-on experience with S4Hana & Concur preferred
- Experience with ERP systems and other accounting software tools
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Ability to interface with different levels of the workforce
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel, Word & PowerPoint is required
- Experience supporting internal and external audits
- Experience with month-end close and account reconciliations
