Responsibilities
- Write compelling scripts for vertical dramas, ensuring they are engaging, fast-paced, and emotionally gripping.
- Develop original content and collaborate on existing IPs.
- Read and analyze web novels to understand their themes, tropes, and structures for adaptation and inspiration.
- Create detailed outlines for new series, ensuring strong character arcs, twists, and cliffhangers.
- Provide feedback on scripts from other writers and collaborate with the creative team.
- Stay up to date with trends in vertical drama and analyze new releases across platforms.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of screenwriting experience in drama, romance, or young-adult genres.
- Excellent English skills, both written and spoken.
- Exceptional storytelling skills, with a strong grasp of emotional beats, cliffhangers, and character-driven narratives.
- Passion for romance and drama, with a deep interest in rom-coms, young-adult dramas, and high-stakes storytelling.
- Strong interest in reading novels, especially web novels, and understanding their narrative structures.
- Bachelor’s degree in History, English, Fine Arts, Screenwriting, or a related field is a plus.
- Familiarity with Asian dramas and vertical dramas is a big plus.
- Knowledge of the web novel industry and its trends is highly preferred.
