About the role

  • SAP-HCM-Testdesigner specializing in quality assurance for SAP HCM projects. Conducts test case design and automation in a hybrid working environment in München.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of work packages related to quality assurance and the optimization of test cases, test data, test scripts and test procedures.
  • Analyze requirement documents and derive appropriate test strategies and test cases.
  • Estimate effort for test case creation and execution.
  • Create, specify and manage test cases and test data.
  • Develop and maintain test concepts in coordination with project teams.
  • Document and analyze software defects (defect management).
  • Plan, prepare and coordinate test executions.
  • Evaluate and analyze test results.
  • Automate test cases using appropriate tools.
  • Perform manual and automated tests and document all results.
  • Apply modern testing methods and tools to ensure high software quality.
  • Prepare test reports and present results to management.
  • Support process optimizations in test and defect management.

Requirements

  • Fluent German (spoken and written), as the project language is exclusively German.
  • Solid knowledge of ISTQB standards (Foundation Level; ISTQB Advanced Level – Test Analyst desirable).
  • Experience in the SAP HCM module with a focus on HCM Travel and SAP HCM Personnel Administration (PA).
  • Willingness to learn additional modules.
  • Experience with various test types and levels (unit tests, system tests, integration tests, acceptance tests, etc.).
  • Experience in agile testing approaches (e.g., testing within agile teams, exploratory testing).
  • Proficient in JIRA / Confluence for ticketing and documentation.
  • Knowledge of SAP Solution Manager (SolMan), CBTA or other automation tools.
  • Experience with SAP core products (e.g., SolMan, interfaces, SAP GUI, SAP Fiori).
  • Analytical thinking, a structured working style and strong communication skills.
  • Project management/methods knowledge: basic understanding of agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) or classical project management.
  • Knowledge of ABAP OO programming.
  • Scripting: experience with shell scripting or other scripting languages (e.g., Python) to automate recurring administrative tasks.
  • Good understanding of Java and other relevant technologies in the testing environment.
