Sales Account Manager responsible for managing and growing strategic relationships with clients in the oil and gas sector. Focus on business growth, customer satisfaction, and market analysis.
Responsibilities
Manage and grow strategic relationships with decision-makers and executives at assigned customer accounts.
Deliver outstanding customer service while actively seeking ways to improve customer operations and outcomes.
Serve as the primary liaison between NOV and assigned customer accounts, identifying customer needs and demonstrating how NOV’s aftermarket services, capital equipment, and technologies add value to their business.
Promote and represent the full suite of NOV Rig Technologies products, services, and solutions to assigned accounts.
Negotiate commercial terms and conditions for customer orders in alignment with NOV policies and guidance from management, legal, and finance teams.
Drive direct sales efforts by identifying opportunities, developing proposals, delivering presentations, and engaging appropriate subject matter experts as needed.
Analyze customer and market needs to build and execute strategic plans focused on capturing new business opportunities.
Support the Annual Financial Plan and Quarterly Sales Forecast by contributing accurate data and maintaining a focus on meeting booking targets.
Track competitor activities and market trends, sharing insights with internal teams to support strategic decision-making.
Collaborate closely with internal support teams, technical experts, and operations to ensure customer satisfaction.
Monitor order status and provide updates to customers while supporting the accounts receivable team with overdue account management.
Maintain an active pipeline of prospects, opportunities, and quotations while managing all required internal and external communications.
Represent NOV Rig Technologies at industry events, conferences, and customer meetings.
Prepare and submit regular reports on sales activities and market intelligence for management review.
Travel locally and regionally to customer sites and company locations as required.
Adhere to all company QHSE policies and uphold NOV’s Code of Conduct.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Valid driver’s license with a clear driving record.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams) and experienced with quotation and aftermarket/asset tracking systems.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business, or a related technical field with a minimum of 4 years of relevant industry experience.
In-depth knowledge of the upstream oil and gas industry, with preference for candidates with experience working for an OEM, drilling contractor, or those with proven expertise in drilling operations and equipment.
Demonstrated success in building and maintaining business-to-business relationships within the industry.
Strong technical acumen and commercial awareness.
Broad understanding of the upstream oil and gas sector, with deep knowledge of drilling markets, applications, equipment, and commercial dynamics.
Proven leadership skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams to achieve shared objectives.
Ability to manage complex client relationships and projects in a fast-paced environment.
Self-motivated with strong decision-making capabilities.
Experience with digital drilling control systems and software is highly preferred.
