About the role

  • Develop software features for applications to advance usability in manufacturing environments.
  • Build tooling and interfaces to facilitate scaling, performance and customer self service.
  • Contribute to building systems, tools, and APIs for robotics platform software, computer vision training and deployment pipelines.
  • Partner with a multidisciplinary team including other engineers and research scientists across ODTA, Robotics, and Toyota.
  • Stay up to date on the state-of-the-art in robotics, machine learning and computer vision techniques.
  • Bridge research and practice to turn ideas into working, scalable systems.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a BS or MS degree in Robotics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Strong software engineering skills in Python and/or C++.
  • Desire to work on deploying innovative robotic systems in real-world environments.
  • Shown initiative outside of studies (e.g., demonstrable projects, volunteering, etc).
  • A team player with strong communication skills and a willingness to learn from others.
  • Passionate about seeing robotics have a real-world, large-scale impact.
