About the role
- Privacy Compliance Consultant managing State Street's global privacy program with a focus on compliance with international regulations. Supporting privacy framework transformation and conducting DPIAs.
Responsibilities
- Work with Global Privacy Office colleagues to further develop and operationalize State Street's global privacy program in compliance with global regulatory requirements, including, but not limited to the GDPR, California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and Brazil's General Law for the Protection of Personal Data (LGPD)
- Support the transformation of the Global Privacy Office Controls Framework.
- Contribute to the design of the Privacy Office’s risk-based monitoring and testing plan across geographies and business functions to regularly verify compliance with privacy requirements.
- Conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) in accordance with Article 35 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
- Assist with the review of evidence to remediate compliance issues
- Support the maintenance of detailed metrics to report on the effectiveness of privacy operations.
- Handle special projects as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in information systems or a law degree
- About 5+ years of privacy, data protection, audit or risk experience
- Understanding of global data privacy regulations, including the GDPR
- Experience working cross-functionally on enterprise-wide programs
- Experience working with remote / geographically dispersed teams
- CIPP, or other relevant privacy / IT audit certifications preferred
- English proficiency required.
