About the role

  • Development and implementation of Safety documentation including Construction Phase plans, site quality plans and Risk Assessments Method Statements
  • Provide and demonstrate safety leadership throughout the project life cycle
  • Sensible Monitoring of site operatives and subcontractors regarding Health and Safety, Quality and Environment
  • Manage competency including training for site personnel
  • Ensure full compliance with all Firstco procedures and current legislation
  • Chairing site coordination meetings
  • Oversee projects on site in a Client-facing role, attending progress and commercial meetings as required throughout the delivery phase
  • Maintain a site presence through project delivery, checking on quality and preparing quality records
  • Assist site personal and sub-contractors with engineering inputs on site, assisting with resolving technical queries and planning of works against the agreed programme
  • Planning and programming of current and future works
  • Notify the Project manager of possible variations and keep suitable contemporary records

Requirements

  • Have held similar roles in the past as a Principal Contractor
  • Have a working understanding of the CDM 2015 Regulations
  • Experience of day-to-day management of site operatives, subcontractors and site work
  • Experience of working under NEC3/4 contracts is desirable
  • Understanding of mechanical, electrical and control systems engineering
  • Full UK driving license is essential
