Pipeline Project Manager leading planning and execution of gas pipeline project for Donlin Gold. Overseeing engineering, procurement, and compliance in a remote project setting.
Responsibilities
Lead all phases of Donlin Gold’s gas pipeline development from concept through design, permitting, construction, and commissioning.
Develop comprehensive project management plans, schedules, budgets, and resource forecasts.
Oversee pipeline routing, design optimization, constructability reviews, and feasibility assessments.
Manage the EPCM contractor to ensure scope, cost, and schedule performance align with project objectives and regulatory commitments.
Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, and regulatory teams to ensure seamless execution and interface management.
Direct construction management activities, ensuring compliance with Donlin Gold’s Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) standards and PHMSA, ASME B31.8, and other applicable codes.
Oversee procurement planning, bid evaluation, and vendor selection for pipeline materials, compression equipment, and support facilities.
Ensure compliance with environmental permits and state and federal regulatory requirements, including coordination with ADNR, ADEC, and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
Evaluate and implement cost optimization strategies balancing capital expenditures (CAPEX) and operational expenditures (OPEX).
Monitor project key performance indicators (KPIs) including cost, schedule, safety, and quality.
Engage with project partners, Alaska Native corporations (Calista Corporation and The Kuskokwim Corporation), community stakeholders, and regulatory agencies to maintain transparent communication.
Mentor junior engineering and project staff, fostering a collaborative and safety-driven team culture.
Promote innovation and continuous improvement across all aspects of pipeline project delivery.
Represent Donlin Gold in meetings, workshops, and technical reviews with stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
Travel as required to the Yukon–Kuskokwim region, Anchorage, and project site.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, or Pipeline) or related discipline (Master’s preferred)
Minimum 12 years of pipeline project management experience in oil & gas, mining, or major infrastructure development.
Proven ability to manage EPCM contracts and multidisciplinary project teams in remote or cold-climate environments.
Strong knowledge of pipeline design, construction methods, hydrostatic testing, and commissioning.
Familiarity with PHMSA, ASME B31.8, API, and Alaska pipeline permitting requirements.
Demonstrated expertise in cost management, scheduling, and risk control.
Proficiency with project management software such as Primavera P6, MS Project, and cost-tracking tools.
PMP certification preferred; Professional Engineer (P.E. or P.Eng.) designation an asset.
Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Demonstrated commitment to safety, integrity, and environmental responsibility.
