About the role
- Criminal Lawyer managing judicial and administrative processes at Sicredi's Administrative Center in Porto Alegre. Collaborating with various legal teams and ensuring compliance within the cooperatives.
Responsibilities
- Work within the Civil and Criminal Procedural Unit of the Sicredi Administrative Center (CAS) in Porto Alegre, supporting the central and member cooperatives that make up the Sicredi system, and monitoring, handling and managing the portfolio of civil judicial and administrative cases under the unit’s responsibility.
- Monitor, manage and oversee criminal judicial and administrative proceedings handled by external law firms, guiding and directing defense, appeals and settlement strategies.
- Analyze scenarios and different situations from the perspective of risk materialization, using interpretation of legislation, doctrine and up-to-date jurisprudence to provide input and alternative perspectives in decision-making, assessing risks and proposing viable solutions for internal clients.
- Analyze cases, jurisprudential trends and concrete matters to propose business improvements aimed at preventing litigation and mitigating risks in judicial proceedings.
- Draft responses to legal consultations and legal opinions, always using objective language that is accessible to internal clients.
- Participate in the development of training and system-wide legal guidance that promote a uniform understanding of the various topics involved in the daily operations of credit cooperatives, the continuous internal training and the comprehension of the different aspects of the products and services Sicredi provides to its members.
- Collaborate with the management teams that make up the Legal Superintendency (Legal Business and Operations) and other areas of CAS.
- Participate in various committees and associations, representing Sicredi.
Requirements
- Law degree with active registration with the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB).
- Postgraduate specialization in Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure.
- Knowledge of and practical experience in criminal litigation.
- Ability to analyze multiple aspects simultaneously, negotiation skills, strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Preferred: intermediate English.
