Responsible for development and maintenance of CAD/CAM/Simulation system, CLC methodology CNC programs, tooling, and processes.
Initiates improvements in product/systems and automate processes to improve products safety, quality, schedule, performance and to reduce manufacturing and operating costs
Designs components or portions of systems and modifies existing designs to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing and field service operations
Gathers information, makes studies, computes calculations, simulates and prepares original rough layouts, sketches to present design proposals
Generates manufacturing process, CNC programs, simulate them in a virtual environment and develop close loop system for assigned facilities
Completes activities of Lean Sigma projects and process improvements
Troubleshoots a variety of moderate to highly complex CNC programming and tooling problems on the virtual environment and production floor for new and mature product lines
Develops and maintains set-up process sheets to compliment CNC programs and partners with the Manufacturing Engineers on development and support of production sites
Functions as “in-house expert” on CAD/CAM/Simulation software and provides training for other staff.
Requirements
Bachelors Degree
4+ years of Engineering experience in a high tech manufacturing environment providing direct manufacturing process support OR Master’s Degree and 2+ years of experience OR PhD
Medical device industry experience (Nice to Have)
GD&T Certification (Nice to Have)
Green Belt Certification (Nice to Have)
