About the role

  • HYBRID position - All visits with clients in person; some in-person meetings; some remote work completing paperwork
  • Perform assessments and behavioral screening as assigned and update as required
  • Provide therapy to children and adolescents between the ages of 3-17
  • Complete both intake and discharge clinical assessments
  • Maintain identified weekly Medicaid billable hours
  • Maintain confidentiality of records relating to clients' treatment
  • Encourage clients to express their feelings and develop insight into themselves and their relationships
  • Guide clients in the development of skills and strategies for dealing with their problems
  • Prepare and maintain all required treatment records and reports
  • Counsel clients individually and in group sessions to assist in overcoming dependencies and adjusting to life
  • Collect information about clients through interviews, observation, and tests
  • Act as client advocate to coordinate required services or resolve emergency problems in crisis situations
  • Develop and implement treatment plans based on clinical experience and update as required
  • Collaborate with other staff members to perform clinical assessments and develop treatment plans
  • Evaluate clients' physical or mental condition based on review of client information
  • Meet with families, probation officers, police, and other interested parties to exchange necessary information during the treatment process
  • Refer patients, clients, or family members to community resources or specialists as necessary
  • Counsel family members to assist them in understanding, dealing with, and supporting clients or patients
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of counseling programs and clients' progress
  • Plan, organize and lead structured programs of counseling, work, study, recreation and social activities for clients

Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years experience working with the MH/SA/DD population
  • Active unrestricted Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW or LMSW) or Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) license in North Carolina
  • Master's degree in social work or mental health counseling from an accredited institution
  • Previous experience providing mental health services to clients in a clinical setting
  • Knowledge of electronic health record systems
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices for treating mental health conditions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
