About the role

• Lead Software Architect at PALTRON GmbH, shaping enterprise software architecture for IT security and e-government. Collaborating with development teams and ensuring compliance in highly secure applications.

Responsibilities

• As Lead Software Architect you are a central technical authority and shape the architecture strategically and methodically:
• You take on an overarching architecture role and advise development teams on architectural decisions.
• You develop and maintain a methodological toolkit for software architecture (including documentation, guidelines and best practices).
• You ensure that complex, highly secure applications (e.g. microservices, event-driven architecture, DDD) comply with regulatory requirements and good practices.
• You bring hands-on expertise in cloud-native technologies (Spring Boot, Kubernetes, Docker, Helm charts) into an on-premise-oriented environment and drive the further development of the architecture with a focus on scalability, modularity and future operating models.
• You assume a lateral leadership role, support knowledge management and act as a multiplier for technical excellence across the company.

Requirements

• Several years of experience as a software architect with a background in development.
• Strong expertise in modern software architectures, Java, Spring Boot, Kubernetes, Docker.
• Ability to make technical decisions at enterprise level and to guide teams methodically.
• Experience in agile software architecture design is desirable.
• Ideally, knowledge of system/software modeling using SysML/UML and established tools.
• Good knowledge of agile and traditional software development methodologies.
• Familiarity with architecture evaluation methods.
• Open and curious mindset, strong communication skills and experience in lateral leadership.
