Responsibilities
- Lead and grow a team of engineers focused on developer experience and productivity through AI-powered tools
- Set the technical vision and roadmap for our AI orchestration platform and MCP tools architecture
- Drive architectural decisions focusing on scalability, maintainability, and adoption across engineering teams
- Oversee the development of integration mechanisms connecting our AI platform with MCP systems while providing a unified interface
- Guide the implementation of RAG systems to incorporate Coupa's institutional knowledge into AI decision-making
- Establish security standards for connectors to internal documentation, systems, and data sources
- Champion the development of domain-specific tools that understand Coupa's unique operational environment
- Partner with senior leadership to align developer experience initiatives with broader engineering and business goals
- Mentor team members, foster a culture of innovation, and contribute to engineering best practices
- Measure and improve developer productivity metrics across the organization
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with at least 3+ years in technical leadership roles
- Strong track record of building and leading high-performing engineering teams
- Experience architecting and implementing developer productivity tools and platforms
- Deep understanding of AI/ML concepts, particularly in the context of LLMs and their applications
- Proven ability to drive technical strategy and execution in cloud-native environments (preferably AWS)
- Strong proficiency in Python and RESTful API development
- Solid knowledge of software design patterns, system architecture, and performance optimisation
- Experience with integration of multiple complex systems and APIs
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
