Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a team of engineers focused on developer experience and productivity through AI-powered tools
• Set the technical vision and roadmap for our AI orchestration platform and MCP tools architecture
• Drive architectural decisions focusing on scalability, maintainability, and adoption across engineering teams
• Oversee the development of integration mechanisms connecting our AI platform with MCP systems while providing a unified interface
• Guide the implementation of RAG systems to incorporate Coupa's institutional knowledge into AI decision-making
• Establish security standards for connectors to internal documentation, systems, and data sources
• Champion the development of domain-specific tools that understand Coupa's unique operational environment
• Partner with senior leadership to align developer experience initiatives with broader engineering and business goals
• Mentor team members, foster a culture of innovation, and contribute to engineering best practices
• Measure and improve developer productivity metrics across the organization

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with at least 3+ years in technical leadership roles
• Strong track record of building and leading high-performing engineering teams
• Experience architecting and implementing developer productivity tools and platforms
• Deep understanding of AI/ML concepts, particularly in the context of LLMs and their applications
• Proven ability to drive technical strategy and execution in cloud-native environments (preferably AWS)
• Strong proficiency in Python and RESTful API development
• Solid knowledge of software design patterns, system architecture, and performance optimisation
• Experience with integration of multiple complex systems and APIs
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
