About the role

  • Assist in the preparation, reviewing, and analysis of the financial statements in a timely and accurate fashion on a monthly and annual basis in a fast paced environment with strict deadlines
  • Knowledge of financial statement preparation including profit & loss statement, balance sheet and statement of cash flows according to GAAP
  • Maintain prepaid expenses schedule and amortize expenses accurately over the relevant periods
  • Calculate and record monthly accruals for various expenses, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies
  • Participate in the annual audit, annual tax filings, and annual personal property tax filing processes
  • Participate in monthly flux analysis
  • Creating reports and updates based on data analysis in Microsoft Dynamics
  • Assisting with development, implementation, and review of fiscal policies and memos
  • Assist in special projects, including but not limited to IT initiatives and process improvements, to support the company’s growth
  • Interacts with management from within and outside of the accounting department to respond in an accurate and timely fashion to inquiries related to the group’s activities

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP required and IFRS a plus
  • 1–2 years of accounting experience preferred
  • Above average system skills – preferred experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX 365, Paylocity or ADP, advanced excel, Procare AR and billing systems
  • Ability to roll up sleeves and be proactive to obtain needed information
  • Excellent verbal communication skills required for communicating issues and providing concise, thoughtful updates to senior management
  • Excellent people, team building and leadership skills
  • Solid technical, analytical and problem-solving skills
