About the role
- Junior Accountant managing general ledger transactions and financial reporting for Little Sprouts LLC. Collaborating with the accounting team to ensure compliance and accuracy.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation, reviewing, and analysis of the financial statements in a timely and accurate fashion on a monthly and annual basis in a fast paced environment with strict deadlines
- Knowledge of financial statement preparation including profit & loss statement, balance sheet and statement of cash flows according to GAAP
- Maintain prepaid expenses schedule and amortize expenses accurately over the relevant periods
- Calculate and record monthly accruals for various expenses, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies
- Participate in the annual audit, annual tax filings, and annual personal property tax filing processes
- Participate in monthly flux analysis
- Creating reports and updates based on data analysis in Microsoft Dynamics
- Assisting with development, implementation, and review of fiscal policies and memos
- Assist in special projects, including but not limited to IT initiatives and process improvements, to support the company’s growth
- Interacts with management from within and outside of the accounting department to respond in an accurate and timely fashion to inquiries related to the group’s activities
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- Strong knowledge of GAAP required and IFRS a plus
- 1–2 years of accounting experience preferred
- Above average system skills – preferred experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX 365, Paylocity or ADP, advanced excel, Procare AR and billing systems
- Ability to roll up sleeves and be proactive to obtain needed information
- Excellent verbal communication skills required for communicating issues and providing concise, thoughtful updates to senior management
- Excellent people, team building and leadership skills
- Solid technical, analytical and problem-solving skills
