About the role

  • Work collaboratively with the business areas in a fast-paced agile environment to define business problems quantitively
  • Develop predictive models to predict risk better
  • Distill value from internal or third-party data
  • Hands-on experience with insurance risk models, data visualization, model development/testing using generalized linear models and other data mining techniques
  • Perform related cost-benefit analyses
  • Complete project-related tasks and meet deadlines
  • Position will work from the office in Madison

Requirements

  • Pursuing a graduate or undergraduate degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Actuarial Science, Risk Management, or Data Science related major
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Students enrolled in a Data Scientist related program
  • Strong quantitative/analytical skills
  • Excellent programming skills using Python, R, and SQL
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to complete project-related tasks and meet deadlines
