About the role
- Intermediate to Senior Engineer at BGC Engineering focusing on tailings management and dam site investigation. Collaborating in a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe practices and project success.
Responsibilities
- Act as a project engineer and technical lead under the direction of the Engineer of Record for tailings projects
- Train, mentor, and supervise technical work of Junior staff
- Manage projects, prepare proposals, and track budgets
- Author or co-author reports
- Organize and supervise field programs, including: site investigation, construction, dam safety inspections
- Work with client representatives
- Help promote BGC vision, values and culture amongst BGC staff
- Travel as required, which could include extended shifts at remote sites
Requirements
- 5-15 years relevant work experience
- Undergraduate degree in Civil or Geological Engineering
- Post-graduate degree is an asset
- Registered (or eligible for registration) as a professional engineer
- Experience in tailings management
- Experience in tailings dam site investigation, design, or construction support
- Excellent communication skills
