About the role
- Infrastructure Computing Architect leading scalable design and implementation of cloud infrastructures for Boeing Commercial Airplane. Collaborating across teams to drive modernization and digital transformation initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of BCA infrastructure architectures supporting manufacturing, engineering, and business systems
- Define scalable, secure, and resilient infrastructure solutions, including cloud, on-premises, networking, storage, and compute resources
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams IT, manufacturing, engineering, and security to align infrastructure strategies with business goals and production requirements
- Drive infrastructure modernization initiatives to support factory automation, digital thread integration, and advanced analytics capabilities
- Lead infrastructure architecture reviews, conduct risk assessments, and ensure compliance with Boeing’s security and governance standards
- Mentor and guide a team of infrastructure architects and engineers to deliver innovative and reliable infrastructure solutions
- Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends to recommend improvements and innovations in infrastructure design
- Support acquisition and divestiture activities by assessing and integrating infrastructure components as needed
- Develop and maintain architecture documentation, roadmaps, and standards to ensure consistency and scalability
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
- 5+ years of experience designing and implementing scalable computing infrastructure for data solutions, including cloud architectures (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
- 5+ years of experience with cybersecurity, information protection, risk management, and/or IT compliance
- 5+ years of experience working in a cross functional environment with all levels in the business from individual contributors to executive leadership
- 10 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (preferred)
- Experience with AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, or hybrid cloud environments (preferred)
- Experience with VMware, Hyper-V, Docker, Kubernetes, or similar technologies (preferred)
- Experience in automation and orchestration tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, or Chef (preferred)
- Experience with network architecture, protocols, and security (e.g., SDN, VPN, firewalls) (preferred)
- Experience with SAN, NAS, and cloud storage architectures (preferred)
- Experience with security frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001), identity and access management, and risk mitigation strategies (preferred)
- Experience integrating infrastructure with DevOps practices and continuous integration/continuous deployment pipelines (preferred)
