About the role

Head of IT & Engineering overseeing development team at Arztkonsultation, advancing telemedicine SaaS solutions. Lead technical strategies and collaborate with management to drive innovation.

Responsibilities

Lead our development team (9 people) and assume overall technical responsibility for the ongoing development of our platform. You will foster a creative and productive team atmosphere, support the individual development of team members, and ensure efficient collaboration.
Design and implement technical strategies in close coordination with management and the solution owners. You will play a key role in shaping our IT and product strategy and help realize innovative features and solutions.
Create and maintain technical roadmaps that reflect the platform’s strategic direction and security standards such as GDPR compliance and end-to-end encryption. Best practices like API-first architectures will be integrated to ensure a flexible, scalable and secure platform with well-defined interfaces and integration options.
Support the optimization and further development of our WebRTC-based video technology and our stack (PHP, Laravel, React, Node.js). You will identify areas for improvement, implement new features, and ensure a stable, high-performance application.
Support the advancement of our DevOps processes using modern tools such as Docker, Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines. The goal is to ensure efficient deployments, automated testing and high system availability.
Actively contribute to the introduction of new technologies and methods to keep our platform up to date. You will drive innovation and ensure a sustainable technical foundation.

Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a comparable qualification
Several years of experience in coordinating and line-managing teams within an IT environment
Solid expertise in system architecture, DevOps and software development as well as in building, evolving and monitoring these areas
Strong knowledge of budget planning and controlling for complex IT projects
Experience working with agile development methodologies and tools
Ideally: solid experience with PHP (Laravel), REST APIs, MariaDB, JavaScript and React, as well as familiarity with SaaS environments
Very good German language skills (minimum C1)
Nice-to-have:
Experience in the healthcare sector and a basic understanding of data protection and security requirements
Prior experience in video and web app development (WebRTC, TypeScript)
