About the role

  • Project Leader managing grid connections in high voltage for energy projects. Overseeing planning and execution of connection projects in Germany's renewable energy sector.

Responsibilities

  • You are responsible for planning and executing our German grid connections with a focus on implementing grid connection substations and, where applicable, transformer substations (Project Execution), ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • You manage the tendering and awarding of contracts for grid connection substations, transformer substations, transformers and reactive power compensation stations.
  • You oversee the preparation of contracts, e.g., works contracts, operations management contracts, infrastructure usage agreements or cooperation agreements with third parties.
  • You act as the central interface to the grid operator and other project stakeholders.
  • You identify opportunities to optimize grid connections.
  • You are responsible for conducting and managing the certification process and for internal preliminary assessments of critical requirements (e.g., grid interaction/power quality, reactive power capability).
  • You calculate grid connection costs, prepare financial plans for infrastructure projects and compute operating costs.
  • You support technical due-diligence processes.
  • You work closely with a team of grid connection engineers and project developers.

Requirements

  • You have a completed degree in industrial engineering, electrical engineering or power/energy engineering, or a completed vocational qualification in a related field.
  • You have already worked as a project manager for medium-voltage or, ideally, substation projects (e.g., at a project developer, grid operator, engineering service provider, EPC contractor or manufacturer of high-voltage components) and have solid experience in this area.
  • You have extensive experience in project management.
  • You are experienced with MS Office and common project management tools.
  • You speak German very well (at least C1).
