About the role

• Full-stack Software Engineer building AI and analytics solutions at Manulife. Integrates Azure AI, frontend/backend systems, and modernizes customer interactions.

Responsibilities

• Play a key, dynamic role in modernizing customer interactions and integrating analytics, business intelligence and AI into decisions
• Design, develop, and implement AI solutions: create AI models and algorithms to solve complex problems
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams: back-end developers, designers, product managers, AI/NLP specialists
• Stay up-to-date with the latest AI technologies; research and evaluate emerging AI technologies
• Participate in code reviews to improve code quality and maintain coding standards
• Document AI processes, models, algorithms, and implementation processes
• Provide actionable insights to stakeholders across the business

Requirements

• College degree or equivalent IT, Computer Science Experience
• 2-4 years of IT/Computer Science Experience
• 2+ years frontend hand on coding knowledge with Azure AI technologies, Azure functions, SQL queries and other components supporting highly automated engineering platforms and Business teams
• Proficiency with .net, C#, nodes js, react, java, javascript, Angular JS, MS bot framework
• Microsoft Azure
• Ability to manage, prioritize multiple work streams in a time sensitive environment
• Strategic thinker focused on digital enhancements, AI, machine learning, and the customer
• Can translate a more complex technical problem into business terms (preferred)
• Strong application development/programming skills (preferred)
• Ability to quickly learn about opensource libraries (preferred)
• Solution design mindset - Ability to constructively challenge business requirements and technical requirements (preferred)
• Work well independently as well as in team environment
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Effective English verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work under tight deadlines
