About the role
- Energy Auditor conducting audits for residential energy efficiency improvements. Conducting assessments, educating residents, and liaising with contractors in Central Ohio for energy efficiency initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive energy audits of residential homes, including blower door testing, combustion safety testing, and insulation assessments
- Identify and recommend weatherization measures such as air sealing, insulation, and HVAC upgrades
- Educate residents on energy-saving practices and safety improvements
- Document findings and prepare reports using MORPC’s data systems
- Coordinate with contractors, field technicians, and inspection staff to ensure timely and quality service delivery
- Maintain inventory and procure supplies from local retailers as needed
- Uphold safety protocols and ensure compliance with program standards
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certifications (e.g., BPI) preferred
- Valid Ohio driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in confined spaces, attics, and crawlspaces
- Willingness to complete training and certification programs provided by MORPC
- Strong communication and customer service skills
