About the role

  • Lead and manage Landis+Gyr’s EMEA Legal and Compliance function, providing strategic legal advice.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with customers, suppliers, and partners to ensure effective risk mitigation.
  • Advise management on corporate structure, shareholder matters, and legal entity management.
  • Serve as Company Secretary, maintaining statutory registers, corporate records, and governance documentation.
  • Prepare board and shareholder meeting materials, agendas, and minutes, ensuring full compliance with statutory and internal requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and oversee the company’s global compliance framework and programs.
  • Ensure adherence to regulations in areas such as anti-bribery, antitrust, data protection, and conflicts of interest.
  • Lead compliance training and communication initiatives to strengthen organizational awareness and accountability.
  • Conduct internal compliance assessments and support investigations when required.
  • Promote a culture of ethical conduct and transparency across the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection legislation (e.g. GDPR) and internal privacy policies.
  • Maintain the data protection management framework, including incident management, risk assessment, and training.
  • Oversee litigation, dispute resolution, and external counsel management, ensuring cost efficiency and strategic alignment.
  • Coordinate with external advisors on regulatory and legal matters as needed.
  • Lead and develop a small Legal and Compliance team, fostering collaboration, professionalism, and business focus.
  • Partner with senior management, HR, Finance, IT, and Operations to ensure alignment between legal, compliance, and business priorities.
  • Act as a trusted advisor and sparring partner to the CFO and Executive Management Team.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Law and bar admission in Switzerland or another European jurisdiction.
  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience in legal and compliance roles within international industrial or technology-driven organizations.
  • Strong expertise in corporate and commercial law, compliance, governance, and data protection.
  • Proven ability to balance legal risk with commercial objectives and provide pragmatic business guidance.
  • Experience leading small teams and managing external counsel efficiently.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and leadership skills with high personal integrity.
  • Fluent in English; German language skills preferred.
