About the role

• Embedded Software Engineer enhancing Toyota's vehicle software platform. Focused on C++ and collaboration with embedded systems projects.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop vehicle frameworks and operating system abstractions to ensure more efficient vehicle software development
• Develop safe, maintainable, high-quality code for public use through mass deployment to millions of vehicles
• Develop tools that automate error-prone tasks and ensure safety by construction
• Develop libraries that make distributed concurrent computation fast, simple and error-free

Requirements

• 3+ years of hands-on development experience in C++
• Experience with common software performance issues and tradeoffs
• Understanding of complex system specifications
• Experience creating robust software designs and effectively explaining them
• A deep commitment to maintaining high-standards in software development
• Business level of English communication skills
• Experience developing ADAS Systems (Nice to Have)
• Experience developing in In-Vehicle Infotainment Systems (Nice to Have)
• Understanding of real-time, distributed, parallel computing, and low-level hardware (Nice to Have)
• Exposure to safety-critical & hard real-time embedded applications (Nice to Have)
• Familiarity with design and analysis of fault-tolerant systems (Nice to Have)
• Large-scale software development toolchains (Nice to Have)
• Security-conscious software design and implementation (Nice to Have)
• Familiarity with ISO 26262, SOTIF, or other Functional Safety Standards (Nice to Have)
• Hands-on experience developing AUTOSAR systems (Nice to Have)
• Bilingual English and Japanese language skills (Nice to Have)
