About the role

  • Responsible for performing engineering design and analysis under the charge of a Professional Engineer
  • Perform detailed design of Photovoltaic (PV) Electrical Power Systems including string sizing, array layouts, tracker power and communication, one-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, Balance of System/Plant equipment details, conduit and cable sizing/routing, grounding design, and project schedules
  • Prepare computer-based models and perform power system studies on utility scale PV power plants including short circuit, load flow, relay coordination, arc flash, collection system grounding, harmonic analysis, and other studies
  • Review equipment data sheets, manuals, and testing reports for design and approvals
  • Prepare documents and reports including cost estimates, budget reports, and studies
  • Provides field assistance, troubleshooting, and observation reports
  • Verifies the work of Designers, Drafters, and Field Service Personnel for quality and accuracy
  • Maintains professional understanding of all applicable Codes and Standards and construction practices
  • Maintains strong company-client relationships

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited institution, electric power option preferred
  • 3 – 6+ years of relevant engineering or field experience
  • Licensure: FE, PE is a plus, but not required
  • Knowledge and familiarity with medium and low voltage distribution, switchgear, motor control centers, and industrial instrumentation and controls
  • Experience with AutoCAD
  • Possesses effective written and oral communications skills
  • Good interpersonal and people skills
