About the role

  • Engineering position at Ford enhancing dynamometer systems for vehicle software and calibration testing. Utilizing advanced simulation technologies to improve vehicle performance and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Create and leverage advanced simulation capabilities for testing vehicles on an advanced dynamometer system for vehicle system software/calibration development.
  • Program, configure, and update simulation test equipment to enable new and emerging feature-level testing.
  • Develop advance scenarios and test cases in tools like dSPACE ASM and IPG Carmaker in order to emulate realistic driving conditions, roadways, test drives, and interactions with other traffic and pedestrians.
  • Design and develop automation test strategies that leverage Ford’s toolchains as well as write test automation scripts to streamline the calibration and verification and validation process.
  • Create intelligent post-processing tools that allow users to quickly check test validity as well as deep-dive into test results to better understand where changes are required in an efficient software driven process.

Requirements

  • B.S. Engineering (BSME or BSEE) or Computer Sciences or similar.
  • 3+ years' experience with dSpace or other real-time HIL systems in a professional setting.
  • 3+ years' experience with MATLAB and Simulink in a professional setting.
  • 3+ years' experience with vehicle communication networks and tools (Vector/Intrepid/etc.).
  • Technical Master's Degree (ex. MSME, MSEE, Computer Sciences) is even better.
  • 5+ years' experience with dSpace or other real-time HIL systems in a professional setting is even better.
  • 5+ years' experience with MATLAB and Simulink in a professional setting is even better.
  • 2+ years' experience with vehicle simulation toolsets (ex. CarMaker, CarSim, ASM etc.) is even better.
  • 2+ years' experience with communication protocols (ex. CAN, EtherCAT, ModBus, UDP, TCP, etc.) is even better.
  • Proficient in Python and/or C/C++ is even better.
  • Experience with powertrain or vehicle dynamometer test systems is even better.
  • 3+ years’ experience with calibration tools and data analysis (ex. ETAS, ATI, Vector tools, etc.) is even better.
  • Vehicle Powertrain or ADAS Calibration Experience is even better.
  • Experience with Tracetronics ECU-Test or other automation scripting tools is even better.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills is even better.
