About the role

  • Acts as the Subject Matter Expert for the development and implementation of Desktop OS images
  • Engineer robust solutions for large-scale deployment of software using MECM and MDT
  • Develop tests and implement software distribution packages and updates for desktops, laptops, tablets, and servers
  • Provide information and recommendations to meet user-based software requirements
  • Implement server OS deployment methodologies including automated server builds
  • Provide support for OS patching infrastructure (HCL BigFix or Windows Update/MECM) to apply mandatory security updates
  • Analyze, evaluate, and recommend desktop, laptop, tablet, and server hardware
  • Perform security-related tasks including documentation, vulnerability scan review, assessment support, patch management, and auditing

Requirements

  • Experience integrating and upgrading desktops and laptops from Windows 7 to Windows 10
  • Experience upgrading Microsoft and 3rd party applications
  • Experience with litigating software such as Ipro and Concordance
  • Ability to work independently with only minor guidance
  • Windows OS engineering experience
  • Understanding of the application of security controls on the image
  • Microsoft Office engineering experience
  • Integrating anti-virus applications in an image
  • VPN/Remote access (Cisco Secure Access with RSA a plus)
  • Strong familiarity with scripting languages such as Powershell and VBScript
  • Windows Scripting experience
  • Experience with OS deployment technologies such as Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) and Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT)
  • Experience developing tests and implementing software distribution packages
  • Experience implementing server OS deployment methodologies and automated server build processes
  • Experience supporting OS patching infrastructures such as HCL BigFix or Windows Update/MECM
  • Experience analyzing, evaluating, and recommending desktop/laptop/tablet/server hardware
  • Experience performing security-related tasks: documentation, vulnerability scan review, assessment support, patch management, and auditing
  • VB and/or VBA coding experience (a plus)
  • VDI/Citrix experience (a plus)
  • SMS/SCCM experience (a plus)
  • Understanding of PKI (a plus)
  • VMWare experience (a plus)
