Responsibilities
Bridge the gap between business stakeholders and the Data/Analytics team by gathering, documenting, and prioritizing data and reporting requirements
Manage the team's backlog and ensure alignment between business needs and technical delivery
Conduct stakeholder interviews across business departments to identify data, reporting, and analytics needs
Document current state data issues, pain points, and reporting gaps
Gather, analyze, and translate business requirements into clear, actionable technical specifications
Prioritize and groom backlog items in Azure DevOps, creating well-defined user stories
Organize sprint planning and manage work assignments for data projects
Facilitate communication between business users and technical team members
Evaluate reporting requests to determine appropriate tools (Tableau, Power BI, Python, etc.)
Track project progress, identify blockers, and ensure timely delivery of solutions
Validate delivered solutions meet business requirements and coordinate UAT when time permits
Maintain documentation of business processes, data definitions, and reporting specifications
Identify opportunities for process improvement and data-driven decision making
Support other IT projects during periods of lower data team demand
Requirements
3+ years as a Business Analyst, preferably supporting data, analytics, or BI teams
Strong requirements gathering and documentation skills
Experience with Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar project management tools
Ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences and vice versa
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Understanding of Agile methodologies and sprint-based workflows
Analytical mindset with attention to detail
Ability to prioritize competing demands and manage multiple initiatives
