Responsibilities
Oversee the design, construction, and maintenance of Donlin Gold’s major water retention and dam structures.
Lead the planning, engineering, and execution of dam and water management infrastructure in alignment with company objectives.
Develop and implement comprehensive project management plans, including schedules, budgets, resource forecasts, and risk management strategies.
Coordinate closely with EPCM contractors, design engineers, permitting specialists, construction teams, and management to ensure alignment.
Conduct technical reviews, risk assessments, and constructability evaluations to proactively identify and mitigate risks.
Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety standards, permitting commitments, and sustainability objectives.
Monitor project progress and performance metrics, prepare executive-level reports, and recommend corrective actions where required.
Represent Donlin Gold at technical meetings, permitting workshops, and community forums as assigned.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mining, or Geotechnical Engineering (Master’s degree preferred).
Minimum 15 years of progressive experience managing large-scale dam, tailings, or water-retention projects, preferably within mining or heavy civil infrastructure.
Demonstrated experience managing EPCM contractors and multidisciplinary project teams.
Strong technical understanding of dam design, construction methodologies, and performance monitoring systems in cold-climate and remote logistics environments.
Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6) and strong cost, schedule, and risk control discipline.
Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local regulations including ADSC, ADNR, EPA, and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers standards.
Professional Engineering license (P.E. or P.Eng.) and PMP certification preferred.
