About the role
- Corporate Controller overseeing financial reporting and accounting operations at Myriad Genetics. Driving excellence in compliance, technical accounting, and team leadership.
Responsibilities
- Supervise a team of approximately 20 employees including GL accounting team, payroll, accounts payable, financial reporting & technical accounting and equity administration.
- Oversee all aspects of accounting operations, including general ledger, consolidations, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, fixed assets and technical accounting.
- Oversee the preparation of SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, proxy statements), ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC requirements.
- Drive process improvements, systems enhancements, and automation to increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
- Own SOX compliance, maintaining a robust internal control environment, partnering with internal audit and external auditors.
- Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration.
- Partner cross-functionally with FP&A, tax, legal, and operations to provide insights and support strategic initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting required, MACC or MBA preferred; CPA required.
- 10+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including leadership roles within public companies.
- Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting, and SOX compliance.
- Strong technical accounting foundation, ideally with prior experience in Big 4 or national public accounting.
- Track record of building, mentoring, and retaining high-performing teams.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact confidently with executive leadership, Board, and external stakeholders.
- Systems savvy with experience driving automation and ERP optimization. Experience with Oracle Fusion a plus.
