About the role

  • Crafting, developing, producing and integrating the sound environment for video games and other visual media
  • Designing and editing engaging sound assets for games, trailers and other visual media respecting project style and creative direction
  • Integrating sound assets in audio middleware (Wwise, FMOD) and game engines (Unreal, Unity, custom engines)
  • Designing dynamic mixing hierarchies and audio systems in stereo and surround
  • Syncing and mixing audio to linear media
  • Testing, finding and fixing audio related bugs
  • Maintaining familiarity with basic scripting for game audio and workflow improvement
  • Collaborating with senior audio staff, game design team and external partners; attending meetings
  • Contributing to documentation, project tracking and procedures
  • Executing recording sessions inside and outside the studio

Requirements

  • Degree in a discipline related to the position (sound design, recording, music)
  • Experience having worked on at least two completed games
  • Or have an impressive portfolio/demo
  • Proficient in using a DAW (Reaper and/or Pro Tools)
  • Good understanding of the audio pipeline working with Wwise
  • Ability to execute basic integration tasks in at least one game engine (Unreal or Unity)
  • Familiarity with basic scripting related to game audio and workflow improvement
  • Excellent creativity in sound creation
  • Ability to test, find and fix audio related bugs
  • Strong organization, resourcefulness and autonomy
  • Ability to manage stress and respect shifting timelines
  • Fluent in French and English
  • Passionate about video games
  • Ability to execute recording sessions inside and outside of the studio

  • (Added value) Spreadsheets skills
  • (Added value) Coding skills
  • (Added value) Knowledge of source control (Git, SVN, Perforce)
  • (Added value) Wwise training certification
