About the role

  • Provide bilingual, culturally informed ongoing outpatient clinical services (individual and/or family psychotherapy) to adults, adolescents, and/or children
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address family issues, behavior patterns, and other personal issues
  • Using various techniques, collect information and data about clients to determine the best use of treatment options
  • Participate in walk-in screening and assessments within a walk-in clinic model
  • Maintain and submit accurate and timely documentation of clinical services provided, progress notes, recommendations, and lists of any recommended therapeutic activities
  • Complete timely and accurate billing notes
  • Confer with other counselors, doctors, staff members, and other professionals to analyze individual cases and coordinate any counseling services, including referrals to other specialists
  • Create and maintain positive relationships with social service providers, other counselors, assistants, and community leaders
  • Contribute to the clinical team’s knowledge base of emerging and changing best practices to best meet our client population
  • Engage in learning opportunities through “La Mesita,” El Futuro’s training platform and network of bilingual providers in North Carolina.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree (or higher) in a field directly related to behavioral mental health care and treatment
  • must be eligible to practice as a licensed mental health provider in North Carolina
  • Minimum 2 years of experience providing mental health treatment to a diverse community, in particular with the Spanish-speaking community
  • Clinical experience with adults; experience with children preferred
  • Training in trauma-informed practices preferred
  • Fluency in spoken Spanish
  • Must also be able to read and communicate with clients in written Spanish
  • Must be able to document clinical encounters in English.
