About the role
- Work directly with clients to gather requirements and design robust SAP solutions using DocuFlow
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and deliver high-quality backend solutions in Java
- Design, implement, and maintain Java-based backend systems and APIs
- Optimize and enhance existing backend infrastructure for improved performance, stability and scalability
- Collaborate with front-end developers, QA engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver integrated solutions
- Contribute to the entire development lifecycle, maintaining high standards for code, technical documentation and deliverables
- Work in an agile development environment and stay current with industry trends to propose innovative solutions
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- 3+ years in a Backend Development Java role with solid understanding of J2EE technologies
- Strong proficiency in Java and related frameworks (Spring, Hibernate, etc.)
- Experience with RESTful API design and implementation
- Experience writing technical documentation and software architecture
- Knowledge of database design and optimization (SQL, NoSQL)
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work in an independent and collaborative work environment
- Eligible to work in Canada and located in British Columbia (PR or Canadian Citizenship required)
- Nice to have: Experience with microservices architecture
- Nice to have: Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Nice to have: Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools
- Nice to have: Previous experience in a managed services environment
