About the role
- Design, develop, and maintain robust backend systems that power Monks' products.
- Build and deploy cloud-native applications in AWS and work with serverless/event-driven systems.
- Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and ensure scalability, security, and efficiency.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions.
- Occasionally support Data Engineering or QA/SDET tasks during lighter backend workloads.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience of Backend Development
- Experience in Python for backend development.
- Hands-on experience building and deploying cloud-native applications in AWS.
- Solid understanding of RESTful API development.
- Experience with serverless architectures and event-driven systems.
- Strong understanding of databases, both SQL (e.g., PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB).
- Comfortable working with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and modern development workflows.
- Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration tools (e.g., Kubernetes).
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken).
- Bonus: Experience in Data Engineering.
- Bonus: Knowledge or hands-on with AWS ecosystem beyond basic services.
- Bonus: Exposure to SDET practices – both manual and automated testing.
- Bonus: Willingness to support Data Engineering or QA/SDET tasks during lighter backend workloads.
