About the role

  • Support the global specification core team through new specification review process.
  • Develop and document work practices, procedures and application specifications that serve as guidance for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support specification, installation guides and drawing development and maintenance.
  • Assist review of customer specifications and propose sound technical modifications.
  • Maintain customer specification database to support specification driven gap analysis and priorities.
  • Maintain sales support library.
  • Support analysis of insulation system requirements based on customer inputs.
  • Provide results to the customer in the form of reports.
  • Support insulation system development initiatives
  • Support application testing related system improvement or development.
  • Develop and deliver technical presentations.
  • Support guidance on the application of technical insulation systems.
  • Support request for technical guidance by phone, e-mail and written requests.
  • Support sales and marketing efforts through technical representation at tradeshows, industry events, customer visits or other events.
  • Support formalized training of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Special projects related to technical service offerings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering, Physics, Material Science or related field
  • Must be willing and able to travel 15-25% of the time both domestic and internationally
  • Internship or Co-Op in a technical/engineering role or industry experience
  • Knowledge of mechanical insulation systems
  • Certified Energy Appraiser
  • Ability to work across organizations to accomplish individual and team-based objectives
  • Ability to connect with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Basic knowledge of materials, material types, properties and uses.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills, including technical writing and the ability to present to large and diverse audiences.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings / details
  • Execute and interpret complex calculations related to insulation properties or systems performance
  • Demonstrates critical thinking and exhibits the ability to communicate complex decisions.
  • Proficient in CAD, MS Office, Adobe, energy analysis software
