About the role
- Associate Technical Services Engineer focusing on technical insulation systems and customer satisfaction. Collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders for system improvements.
Responsibilities
- Support the global specification core team through new specification review process.
- Develop and document work practices, procedures and application specifications that serve as guidance for internal and external stakeholders.
- Support specification, installation guides and drawing development and maintenance.
- Assist review of customer specifications and propose sound technical modifications.
- Maintain customer specification database to support specification driven gap analysis and priorities.
- Maintain sales support library.
- Support analysis of insulation system requirements based on customer inputs.
- Provide results to the customer in the form of reports.
- Support insulation system development initiatives
- Support application testing related system improvement or development.
- Develop and deliver technical presentations.
- Support guidance on the application of technical insulation systems.
- Support request for technical guidance by phone, e-mail and written requests.
- Support sales and marketing efforts through technical representation at tradeshows, industry events, customer visits or other events.
- Support formalized training of internal and external stakeholders.
- Special projects related to technical service offerings.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering, Physics, Material Science or related field
- Must be willing and able to travel 15-25% of the time both domestic and internationally
- Internship or Co-Op in a technical/engineering role or industry experience
- Knowledge of mechanical insulation systems
- Certified Energy Appraiser
- Ability to work across organizations to accomplish individual and team-based objectives
- Ability to connect with internal and external stakeholders.
- Basic knowledge of materials, material types, properties and uses.
- Excellent written and oral communications skills, including technical writing and the ability to present to large and diverse audiences.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings / details
- Execute and interpret complex calculations related to insulation properties or systems performance
- Demonstrates critical thinking and exhibits the ability to communicate complex decisions.
- Proficient in CAD, MS Office, Adobe, energy analysis software
