About the role

  • Technician/drainage engineer working within the Asset Management Team at Barnet Council. Ensuring compliance and maintenance of drainage assets within a motivated highways maintenance team.

Responsibilities

  • Working within the Asset Management Team, the postholder will play a key role in a highly motivated Highways Maintenance team, participating in the delivery of the effective and efficient Highways Maintenance function related to all drainage assets
  • The postholder will be required to assist the drainage team in maintaining the drainage asset in a safe condition within limited budgetary provision and to ensure compliance with the Highways Act 1980 and Land Drainage Act 1991

Requirements

  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Water Engineering, Transportation or equivalent
  • Relevant professional work experience in Civil/Highway Engineering, Transportation or equivalent
  • General knowledge of highways and surface drainage and associated working knowledge of legislation
  • Experience of surveying and project cost calculation
