About the role
- Assistant Management Accountant managing month-end close activities at Medline, supporting financial operations in a hybrid workplace.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for all operational month-end close activities and completing balance sheet reconciliations
- Supporting the Senior Financial Controller in all activities ensuring smooth closing process and reconciliations of the general ledger
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
- Help ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations
- Support the development, monitoring, and financial forecasts
- Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations, reconciling all general ledger
- Complete month-end procedure posting journals, working towards deadlines set
- Carry out year-end procedure, working towards deadlines set
- Assist in the reconciliation of financial accounts
- Complete quarterly VAT returns
- Maintain fixed asset register
- Support the implementation and maintenance of internal controls to safeguard company assets
- Assist in conducting audits and reviews to ensure compliance with policies and procedures
- Provide support in analysing financial data and generating reports
- Assist in the preparation of financial analysis for management decision-making
- Perform administrative tasks, such as filing, data entry, and document management
Requirements
- Partially/fully qualified or QBE, minimum of 5 years of experience
- Strong knowledge of financial accounting, reporting and analysis with a focus on month-end close process
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated with a collaborative, team working approach
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
- Able to work on own initiative
