About the role
- Analyst Microservices Developer supporting microservices-based applications at Hastings Direct, focused on agile delivery and DevOps practices. Collaborating with senior engineers and guiding projects to improve customer engagement.
Responsibilities
- As an Analyst Microservices Developer, you will be an integral part of the CIO Technology Engineering team, supporting the development and maintenance of microservices-based applications.
- You will work under the guidance of senior engineers and technical leads to deliver high-quality, scalable, and secure solutions that meet business needs.
- This role is designed to help you build foundational skills in microservices development, agile delivery, and DevOps practices.
- You will contribute to coding tasks, testing, documentation, and troubleshooting, while learning how to apply engineering standards and best practices.
- You will be encouraged to ask questions, seek feedback, and actively participate in team discussions.
- Through mentorship and hands-on experience, you will grow your technical capabilities and understanding of the wider system landscape, preparing you for progression within the engineering career path.
Requirements
- Experience in software development, ideally with exposure to Java and microservices concepts.
- Understanding of agile delivery principles, with some experience working in agile teams or academic projects.
- Willingness to learn and apply engineering best practices, including clean code, testing, and version control.
- Ability to follow technical guidance and contribute to team goals with growing autonomy.
