About the role

  • Own the roadmap for AI and automation on the account, aligned with wider delivery goals set by the Head of Delivery.
  • Meet with client stakeholders on a fortnightly/regular basis to review recent discovery, discuss upcoming priorities, and gather input to shape the roadmap.
  • Be the central point of accountability for automation planning, execution, and governance.
  • Work with internal SMEs and client stakeholders to align automation initiatives with strategic and commercial outcomes.
  • Prototype, build, and maintain automation workflows and scripts across email campaign workflows; content production and publishing (especially AEM); QA and testing processes; and internal dashboards and reporting.
  • Connect APIs and data sources directly (e.g. via Python, JavaScript, or n8n), with developer support available for more complex builds.
  • Maintain version control, documentation, and monitoring of live automations; identify and unblock inefficiencies in delivery and operations.
  • Monitor impact of deployments and continuously iterate solutions to reduce manual workloads and increase speed, scale, and quality of delivery.
  • Collaborate with delivery, production, creative, QA, and development teams to embed automation sustainably and drive adoption and upskilling across the squad.
  • Support resourcing decisions by highlighting automation efficiencies and workload shifts.
  • Maximise use of AEM and Adobe suite features, leverage AI platform capabilities, and write/adapt lightweight scripts and connectors across Adobe, content systems, and third-party APIs.
  • Track performance and utilisation of automation tools and processes, reporting regularly to the Head of Delivery.
  • Ensure automation solutions comply with client security, privacy, and ethical requirements; establish clear usage guidelines and reporting lines for third-party or open-source tools.
  • Collaborate with AI/Automation R&D to pilot new tools and deploy proven AI models; communicate automation opportunities and outcomes to client stakeholders in plain language.

Requirements

  • Proven experience delivering AI and automation within enterprise content or digital environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) or similar enterprise CMS workflows.
  • Hands-on experience building automations with workflow platforms (e.g. n8n, Make, Zapier, UiPath) and scripting languages such as Python or JavaScript.
  • Confident connecting APIs, handling authentication, and debugging automation workflows.
  • Experience using Git or similar version control to manage automation scripts and integrations.
  • Solid understanding of QA processes, campaign automation, and reporting tooling.
  • Confident working in a cross-functional team, including technical, delivery, and creative stakeholders.
  • Able to take ownership of automation solutions end-to-end — from roadmap definition through to hands-on build and deployment — while working closely with the Head of Delivery and squad leads.
  • Experience engaging senior client stakeholders and translating technical initiatives into commercial value.
  • Pragmatic, delivery-first thinker with a bias for action.
  • Comfortable switching between big-picture strategy and detailed technical problem solving (e.g. debugging a failing script).
  • Strong ethical stance on AI use, especially around privacy and transparency.
