AI Application Engineer responsible for integrating AI-driven workflows within CAD systems at Voitas. Collaborate with experts to enhance automation in harness design processes.
Responsibilities
Integrate AI outputs into CATIA and related EDS tools (via CAA, C++, Python, or API automation).
Develop plug-ins, scripts, and interfaces that connect AI logic with CAD geometry.
Validate and benchmark automated harness modifications using engineering standards.
Collaborate with design engineers to refine workflows and ensure usability.
Support deployment, testing, and documentation of the AI Co-Pilot platform.
Create and maintain technical documentation and reports.
Ensure proper archiving of all relevant documents and data.
Requirements
B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
Experience in CAD automation (CATIA, NX, Creo, etc.) beneficial.
Experience with scripting and API-based automation (Python, C++, VBA).
Understanding of electrical harness design or mechanical design principles.
Interest in AI applications and data-driven engineering workflows.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in cross-functional teams.
Additional experience and/or qualifications in the field of electrical engineering, automotive engineering, mechatronics or comparable qualifications are an advantage.
Experience in project management and coordination of development projects.
Proven experience coordinating a small engineering team.
In-depth knowledge of Design Release processes.
Experience with CAD systems and software (e.g. CATIA V5, 3DX, NX).
Knowledge of the relevant norms and standards in the automotive industry.
Ability to identify process improvements – eliminating waste and increasing efficiency.
Strong communication skills in English (written / verbal).
Additional ability to communicate in German is an advantage.
