Accounting Associate responsible for managing accounts payable and bookkeeping in a hybrid team environment. Working in the accounting department of a firm focused on high-net-worth individuals and their families.
Responsibilities
Process accounts payable transactions, including invoice verification, approval, and payment processing.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of financial transactions and assist with bookkeeping tasks.
Prepare and reconcile balance sheets and general ledger accounts as needed.
Assist in preparing financial statements, including income statements and trial balances.
Support preparing annual compliance reports, such as 1099s and other applicable tax documents.
Monitor and maintain financial accounts, ensuring compliance and resolving discrepancies.
Collaborate with team members to enhance accounting systems and procedures.
Respond promptly to inquiries from vendors and clients regarding financial transactions and accounts.
Ensure the accuracy of financial documents and adherence to legal and company policies.
Support monthly payroll and maintain organized records.
Record and reconcile bank statements.
Provide administrative assistance to the finance department.
Undertake general administrative tasks, including filing, data entry, and correspondence related to financial operations.
Requirements
Bachelor’s or Associate's degree in accounting or finance preferred.
2+ years in accounting or bookkeeping, preferably in the high-net-worth and family office space.
Experience with data entry and financial reporting.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, GAAP, and tax compliance.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero).
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
Experience in public accounting is a plus.
