About the role

  • Accounting Associate responsible for managing accounts payable and bookkeeping in a hybrid team environment. Working in the accounting department of a firm focused on high-net-worth individuals and their families.

Responsibilities

  • Process accounts payable transactions, including invoice verification, approval, and payment processing.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of financial transactions and assist with bookkeeping tasks.
  • Prepare and reconcile balance sheets and general ledger accounts as needed.
  • Assist in preparing financial statements, including income statements and trial balances.
  • Support preparing annual compliance reports, such as 1099s and other applicable tax documents.
  • Monitor and maintain financial accounts, ensuring compliance and resolving discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with team members to enhance accounting systems and procedures.
  • Respond promptly to inquiries from vendors and clients regarding financial transactions and accounts.
  • Ensure the accuracy of financial documents and adherence to legal and company policies.
  • Support monthly payroll and maintain organized records.
  • Record and reconcile bank statements.
  • Provide administrative assistance to the finance department.
  • Undertake general administrative tasks, including filing, data entry, and correspondence related to financial operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Associate's degree in accounting or finance preferred.
  • 2+ years in accounting or bookkeeping, preferably in the high-net-worth and family office space.
  • Experience with data entry and financial reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, GAAP, and tax compliance.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero).
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
  • Experience in public accounting is a plus.
