- Senior Finance Analyst managing financial planning and reporting for agri-tech company focused on reducing methane emissions. Partnering with CFO to inform decision-making and support fundraising initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Produce financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax laws, and internal policies
- Implement and improve financial processes and internal controls
- Oversee and optimize the company's R&D tax credit claims in the UK
- Coordinate external audits and any financial due diligence processes
- Own all aspects of financial planning, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial modeling
- Monitor financial performance and provide data-driven insights
- Conduct financial analyses to support business growth and efficiency improvements
- Support the CFO in developing funding strategies and executing fundraising activities
- Develop financial models to provide insights and support executive decision making processes
- Partner with the CEO on key strategic initiatives
- Present financial reports and strategic recommendations to key stakeholders
- Monitor expenses, identify and drive cost-efficiency initiatives
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (MBA or CPA preferred)
- 3+ years of experience in finance management, preferably in a (technology-related) startup environment
- Advanced Excel skills (complex formulas, pivot tables, data validation, scenario analysis)
- Dominance of financial modeling techniques (three-statement models, discounted cash flow, sensitivity analysis, break-even analysis)
- Proven experience in financial planning, a deep understanding of business economics, and financial management
- Previous experience in fundraising, and stakeholder engagement is a plus
- Strong understanding of financial regulations, compliance, and risk management
- Expertise in the UK R&D tax credit system and experience handling R&D tax claims
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
