Responsibilities
Performs advanced follow-up on insurance billing and collection activities
Makes collection calls and verifies the accuracy and completeness of insurance records and claims
Contacts insurance companies and/or collection agencies to expedite payments from various payers for physician services
Reviews patient accounts for accuracy of information including insurance, eligibility, and invoice resolution
Utilizes Epic system tools and payer websites for claim submission, claim status, and eligibility inquiries
Interacts with management and staff members to discuss issues
Assists with training new staff and special projects
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent high school certification or combination of education and/or experience
3 years of experience in Billing or Insurance
Certifications / Professional Licenses: No specific certification/professional license is required
