About the role

  • Clinical Service Representative assisting with patient flow and scheduling in a fast-paced Therapy Practice at WashU. Responsible for registration, scheduling, and serving as liaison to consumers.

Responsibilities

  • Assist and support the Therapy Practice, clinicians, and staff with patient flow and smooth running of a fast-paced office
  • Perform all aspects of a scheduler and customer service representative, by telephone
  • Ensure accuracy of data entered into the scheduling system including scheduling transactions, registration, entering demographic, and insurance/referral information
  • Serve as liaison to consumers (staff, patients, healthcare professionals and general public)
  • Advocate for patients’ needs
  • Responsible for registration and scheduling of new and returning patient appointments
  • Cancel, reschedule, and obtain/document necessary referrals, in Epic, for patient appointments
  • Assist consumers regarding appointment information, systems, procedures, and resources in a timely, efficient, and courteous manner
  • Manage internal and external referral orders and assess consumers’ needs

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic Life Support certification (Online BLS certifications, those without a skills assessment component, are not sufficient to meet the BLS requirements)
  • 2 years of experience in a Medical Office Setting
