About the role

  • Accounting Coordinator managing financial transaction processing and supporting internal and external stakeholders at University Advancement. Involved in budget management and finance assistance in a university setting.

Responsibilities

  • Process online documents in Workday, such as purchase orders, change orders, supplier invoice requests, expense reports, internal service delivery documents, supplier invoices, journals, and cash sales deposits
  • Ensure expenditures follow policy and are accurately entered and approved
  • Serve as a primary point of contact and resource for assistance with finance services
  • Act as liaison between the department, suppliers, and central area functions such as Accounts Payable, Resource Management, and General Accounting
  • Assist with analysis of department revenue and expenditures and preparation of financial reports as assigned
  • Monitor account balances, maintains open encumbrances, and processes journals as needed
  • Assist with fiscal year end close
  • Continually look for opportunities to improve workflow efficiency and accuracy of transactions
  • Provide feedback on UA financial processes and systems

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent high school certification or combination of education and/or experience
  • 3 Years of experience in Accounting, Business, Administrative Support
  • Previous experience in a university setting is preferred
